Summer Academy League is in it’s second leg of the summer season with round 9 played at Fawkner on the 30th Jan 2010. Eighteen teams in 5 age groups from Bayside Football Academy, Australian Professional Football Academy, Australian Football Skool, Mooroolbark Soccer Club and Brimbank Soccer Club participated. Considering the hot conditions on the day, the football on display was inspiring and everyone involved enjoying the atmosphere. With an emphasis on development, not the final score parents and players appreciated the spirit and sportsmanship throughout the day.

Round 10 is set to kick off on the 13/14 February 2010 at Moorabbin Hellenic Community Centre – Madden Rd, Heatherton. The facility has ample parking, social rooms, changing rooms, toilets and canteen. The pitch is in fair condition, but is flat and will provide an enjoyable experience for players. Available age groups are U9 – U11 – U12 – U13 – U14 – U15 – U16 and rules are the same as FFV 2010 Sub & Junior League structure giving you the opportunity to prepare your teams for the season. At this stage these Gala Days will be held at this venue for the weekends February 13/14 and 20/21. Team entry fee is $30.- which will be donated to Moorabbin Hellenic Community Centre in support of their efforts in improving these facilities. Referee’s and support staff are provided by Summer Academy League. If you have budding referees who would like some pre-season practice in u12’s and below, $25.- per game is paid. Apart from the Member Academies, South Melbourne FC, Hampton SC, Brighton SC, Mooroolbark SC, Bayside Argonauts FC have already expressed interest in fielding teams in this event.

Clubs must provide their own player insurance.

We’re planning to fixture U9 A&B Joeys/Kangaroos and U11 A&B Joeys/Kangaroos (9 a side Half Pitch) on Saturday 13th February from 1 – 7pm and U12-s – U16’s (11 a side Full Pitch) all day Sunday 14th . As this is short notice for some, teams must be submitted by Thursday 11th February 8pm allowing us to prepare the fixture for February 13/14. Availability will be limited, so places will be allocated on a first in first served basis. Please advise what age and grade your fielding and team results from last season so we can ensure an evenly matched fixture. Member Academies have Youth Representative Squads in U13, U14, U15, and U16 who are keen to play last years Super League teams.
